Privacy Policy

Word Kettle ("we", "us") runs the website at wordkettle.com. This policy explains what information the site handles and why. The short version: you do not need an account, and your searches and puzzle words stay on your device.

What happens when you use our tools

The word finder, anagram solver, pattern finder, word checker and word search maker all run inside your browser. The first time you search, your browser downloads our word list; every search after that is worked out on your device. The letters you type and the words you add to a puzzle are not sent to us. When you open a definition, your browser downloads a small file of definitions for words starting with the same letters, which does not reveal the exact word.

Your search may appear in the page address (for example ?letters=abc) so you can bookmark or share it. That address stays in your own browser history unless you share it.

Information stored on your device

If you turn on Larger text or choose a paper size for printing, we remember that choice in your browser's local storage so it applies on your next visit. It is never sent to us, and you can clear it at any time in your browser settings.

Server logs

Our site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

We do not currently use cookies, analytics or advertising. If we add them in the future, for example Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful or Google AdSense to keep the site free, we will update this policy before they go live, explain what data they collect, and ask for your consent where the law requires it, such as in the UK and EU.

Children

Word Kettle is a general-audience site suitable for families. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Your rights

Because we do not collect personal information through the site, there is usually nothing for us to access, correct or delete. If you email us, we use your message only to reply, and we will delete it on request. Residents of the UK, EU, Canada and US states with privacy laws can contact us about any privacy request.
