Anagram Solver
Rearrange letters into new words. Find single-word anagrams, or phrases of two or more words.
What is an anagram?
An anagram rearranges every letter of a word or phrase to make something new. Listen becomes silent and enlist; dormitory becomes dirty room. Each letter must be used exactly once, which is what separates an anagram from the wider word finder, where you can leave letters unused.
Single-word anagrams
The first list shows every word that uses all of your letters. Add a question mark to stand for one unknown letter, which is useful when you know the length of an answer but are missing a tile.
Multi-word anagrams
The phrase list splits your letters into two or more real words. Set the shortest word length to skip tiny filler words, and use Must include word to build phrases around a word you already like. Long inputs can have thousands of phrases, so the solver shows the first 500 and tells you when it stopped early.
Anagram phrases are popular for puzzle clues, pen names, team names and party games. For finding shorter words inside your letters, use the word finder instead.
